The premiere San Diego based Amtgard group that meet every Saturday (Noon) & every Wednesday evening (6pm - Fighter Practice only). The meetings take place @ Kit Carson park in Escondido, CA. (see “Map” page for directions).
For those new to Amtgard:
What is it?:
Amtgard is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that is dedicated to the recreation of the Sword and Sorcery genre as well as educational aspects of both Medieval and Ancient cultures. Amtgard focuses largely on a Medieval-based combat system but also encompasses the arts and sciences of the time, in a friendly, social atmosphere.
What are the Rules?:

What does it cost?:
Amtgard is free to play. There are some very modest costs involved in making equipment and garb. Typically one can get away with everything they need for well under $50 total. That being said there are many people that will happily lend you stuff if you just want to show up and check it out. Also if it becomes something you get involved in many of the people will help you make everything you would like to have.
Taking it one step further you can become a “Dues Paid” member ($1 a month) and have a say in the workings of the group and the decision making process. An example of this would be voting for what the heraldry of the group should be. The voting process is called an “Allthing”.
